    Made first for our own children.

    Would you ever compromise on what your child eats? Then why compromise on what touches their skin? We couldn't find clothing that met that standard — soft, functional pieces for movement, comfort, and everyday play, beautiful and made without compromise. So we made them ourselves, with the care we'd want for our own kids.

    Then we thought: what about us?

    The mothers, sisters, and caregivers. The ones doing the loving, the holding, the late nights and early mornings. We wanted clothes that felt as good as they looked, that could move with us through all the parts of our lives. So womenswear was born. Same thinking, extended. Easy layers, relaxed silhouettes, timeless pieces designed for the way we actually live. Comfort without compromise!

    In 2025, The Simple Folk was brought into Inside Out's collective of brands building business as a force for good.

    Inside Out is led by CEO and Founder Suzy Amis Cameron — mother, grandmother, social and environmental advocate who has spent decades building businesses that prioritize regeneration, responsibility, and long-term thinking. Being part of this collective has given us the expertise and the resources to build the clothing brand we've always wanted to be.

Here's what the work has looked like since joining Inside Out.

01. MATERIALS

100% natural fibres

We've removed elastane from our range. Where it still exists, it sits within the waistband structure, so not directly against your skin, but there to support!

02. TRACEABILITY

Farm to finished garment

For our knitwear, we can now name every step the cotton takes before it becomes yours. Farm, gin, spin, dye, stitch — all certified, all documented.

03. CHEMICAL SAFETY

ZDHC compliant dyes

Our knitwear dyes meet ZDHC standards, a global protocol keeping harmful chemistry out of waterways and away from the people making your clothes.
